We all are heartbroken over the growing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The number of refugees is climbing daily, now well over 2 million. Many are wondering, “How do I help?”. The Cambridge Rotary is reaching out to the community for donations to purchase multiple ShelterBox kits to send to the Ukraine refugees in and around Ukraine.

Cambridge Area Rotary will match your contribution, purchasing up to 2 additional boxes on top of what the community donates for these boxes!

The ShelterBox organization provides boxes of survival goods to displaced families from natural disasters and war-torn countries. Cambridge Area Rotary has been sending ShelterBoxes to countries in need for the last decade. It is a worthy tried and true cause. As described by the ShelterBox website:

“Everyone deserves a place to call home. It is a human right and the first step towards recovery after disaster".

When you don’t have to keep moving or worry about where to sleep at night, you can think about tomorrow. Items like tents, tarpaulins, tools, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking sets and water filters help to meet the most urgent needs, so you can start to earn a living, send children to school and rebuild your home. Recovery doesn’t happen overnight, but a dry and warm place to sleep, prepare meals and be with your family is the vital first step.”
