Care Closet Partners

Through our Care Closet initiative, the Junior League of Alexandria partners with local schools to provide essential items for students who may be experiencing hardship. These school-based closets ensure students have access to hygiene items, basic clothing necessities, and school supplies so they can focus on learning with dignity and confidence.

Currently, the Junior League supports four Care Closet locations across our community. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are working to restock and update each closet to ensure students continue to have access to these essential resources.

The average cost to restock and update one Care Closet is approximately $2,000, with a total goal of $8,000 to fully support all four locations.

Businesses and community partners can support this effort through:

• In-kind donations of requested items
• Financial contributions to help purchase needed supplies
• Full or partial sponsorship of a Care Closet

Items Needed

Socks, underwear, feminine hygiene products, body wash, lotion, deodorant, razors, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, hairbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and school supplies.

As a thank you for your generosity, we will recognize supporting businesses by placing signage in the Care Closet with your business name or logo (unless you prefer to remain anonymous).
