Backstory

New Mercy Moms started from a place of deep pain.

In 2015, Kathy's world turned upside down when she lost her firstborn child, Jack, just two weeks after he was born. At first, she tried to run from the pain of death and all that reminded her of it, but she soon found that that didnt work. Jesus was the only One who could bring life to those death pains she felt inside.

📖 The Bible verse that became her lifeline was Psalm 73:26: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart."

After going through her own journey of grief and healing, she felt compelled to help other moms walking a similarly painful path. She started by sharing what God had done in her life by talking about it with anyone who would listen -- both in person and online. And you know what? People responded. They shared how they were impacted by her story and what God has taught her. That's how New Mercy Moms came to life.

New Mercy Moms is all about giving other grieving moms what she needed (and still needs): a reliable, biblically-grounded place to find hope after loss.

Through creating biblically grounded and theologically rich resources, we aim not only to support bereaved mothers in their journey of grief and hope but also to empower them to help others facing similar tragedies.

In keeping with 2 Corinthians 1:3-5, the purpose and vision of New Mercy Moms is to provide caring, biblical help and healing to comfort, equip, and empower mothers grieving the death of a child. Our vision impacts more than individual healing, recognizing that helping a mother strengthens a family, bolstering a community, and, ultimately, has the potential to change the world.
