Earlier this week, an electrical fire at the Casa de Los Amigos apartment complex in Redondo Beach left many residents, including more than 150 older adults, without power and facing unexpected challenges.
Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) staff were on-site quickly to help ensure residents had meals, assistance and temporary lodging while we await power being restored.
Many of the individuals affected are older adults and community members who rely on support, and this disruption has created additional needs. We are asking our community to come together and provide essential items during this difficult time. BCHD is collecting food items, as well as donations to provide essential items in support of these displaced community members.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
