The reason I am taking on this challenge is like many I have been immediately affected by cancer. As recent as 2019, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. This cancer, unlike many others, was quickly removed. Nonetheless, I was immediately struck with thoughts of the worse, as I did not know what it meant or what the protocol would be. I have also seen my father struggle with Luekemia for over 16 years (since July of 2008). Through the last 42 years I've either heard, been alongside or lost family and friends to this terrible disease.

On June 14th I will embark on a 180 mile journey on my bike with a group of fellow Castaway cyclists from Key Biscayne to Key West.
