If you've ever wondered what it's like to journey from Miami to Key West, not by car,  but by sheer foot power, then welcome to the world of Castaways Against Cancer (CAC). Last year, our brave Castaways Vince Llanes and Paige Douglass took on this Herculean task, each logging a jaw-dropping 75 miles in a relay-style run. And let me tell you, it was as insane, exhilarating, and unforgettable as it sounds.

Now, you might be thinking, "Well, that's cool and all, but what's my role in this madcap adventure?" Hold onto your hats, because this year, I'm diving headfirst into the fray. Last year, I had the honor of serving as support crew for Paige, ensuring she had everything she needed to conquer those miles safely. It was a wild ride, quite literally, and it bonded me with the rest of the CAC Run Squad in a way I never imagined.

But here's the kicker: for the 2024 Here Comes the Sun Tour, I'm not just playing the sidelines. Oh no, I'm strapping on my running shoes and hitting the pavement alongside Vince and Paige. That's right, I'll be tackling 50K with Vince on day one and then turning around and doing it all over again with Paige on day two. Crazy? Maybe. Exciting? Absolutely.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Why in the world would anyone willingly subject themselves to such madness? Well, dear reader, allow me to shed some light on the matter. This year, my run isn't just about pushing my physical limits or chasing an adrenaline rush (though those are certainly perks). No, this year, I'm running with purpose.

I'm dedicating every step, every blister, every exhausted breath to the friends and family of all those listed on our In Honor banner. You see, behind every name displayed proudly on that banner lies a story of courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit. But there are countless others, unsung heroes if you will, who have stood by their side every step of the way.

They're the ones who offered a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, a comforting embrace. They're the ones who cheered the loudest, prayed the hardest, and loved the fiercest. And though their names may not be etched in bold letters, their impact is felt just as deeply.

So, to all those unsung heroes, this run is for you. It's for every late-night hospital visit, every encouraging word, every silent prayer whispered into the void. It's for the love, the support, the unwavering dedication that often goes unnoticed but never goes unappreciated.
