Dear friends and supporters, I'm thrilled to share that I am embarking on an extraordinary mission as a part of Castaways Against Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to the relentless pursuit of a world without cancer. On this incredible journey, I'll be running 170 miles from Miami to Key West, pushing my limits to raise vital funds for cancer research. I won't be alone on this challenging path – my running partner, Vince, will be rocking it for the first 85 miles. Cancer has touched my life in profound ways, with my mother, aunt, uncle, grandparents, and best friend all courageously battled/are currently battling this disease. I grew up watching my mom fight for her life, and she will always be my biggest role model and inspiration to keep fighting. My passion for cancer research and supporting the fight against cancer began back in HS when my mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, I have become an exercise oncologist, and work with cancer patients and survivors. I am running for them, too. Even though I have faced my own battles, my mission isn't about me-- I want this tour to solely be about the countless others who face this relentless foe. I dream of a day when cancer is no longer a threat, and through your support, we can bring that day closer. Together, we can make a difference.
