Dear Friends & Colleagues,
I’m reaching out again to ask for your support again for a very worthy cause, Castaways Against Cancer's 2025 – The Bigger Boat Tour! We need to fill this “bigger boat” with kayakers, cyclists, runners, and donors who support the mission of funding cancer research. As the Castaways honor, fight, and celebrate, please support the Bigger Boat Tour and help “take a bite out of cancer!”
This is now my third year doing the tour, but the group has been doing this since 2000, and is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year. Many things have changed over the past quarter century, but that first trip for the Castaways Against Cancer (four guys, two kayaks, seven days, 170 miles) was the seed for today’s group, which now includes kayakers, runners and cyclists. The mission, however, remains the same: raise funds for cancer research and honor those who’ve fought the fight.
This year, instead of cycling the full 170 miles from Key Biscayne to Key West in a single day as I have the past two years, I’ll instead be running (relay-style) with a group of other like-minded crazy fundraisers (including my wife) to cover the same 170 miles on foot over two days.
We’re proud to partner with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Miami Health System, and every dollar raised will be matched, 50 cents on every dollar. Proceeds will fund significant research projects in the fight against cancer.
Since 2000, the Castaways have raised more than $2.5 million thanks to amazing supporters like YOU! For this year’s adventure, I’m reaching out to you as a valued colleague, family member, and friend, and hope you can support the effort with a completely tax deductible donation.
