Molly is a 6-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with the sweetest spirit and happiest tail wags you’ll ever see. She’s playful, gentle, and full of joy — the kind of pup who lights up every room she’s in.

Last week, Molly was spayed and seemed to be recovering just fine. Her foster family was diligent — keeping her cone on, monitoring her closely, and making sure she didn’t lick her incision. But this week, they noticed something was wrong: her incision had opened up.

Even through the pain, Molly didn’t show it. She kept smiling, playing, and acting like her usual happy self. Thankfully, her foster noticed the issue right away and rushed her to the emergency vet. There, they discovered her incision had become infected and partially necrotic. Without immediate surgery, she was at serious risk of her intestines pushing through or the infection spreading — both life-threatening complications.

Molly needed emergency surgery to clean and repair the wound, and of course, we couldn’t let her suffer. The total cost for her care is around $2,000 — a big hit for our rescue, but one that will save her life and get her back to being the happy, bouncy pup she deserves to be.
