I've been a musician and avid music listener ever since I can remember! I've been lucky enough to have access to music education and a supportive music community throughout my life and am fundraising and competing in this competition to help provide the gift of music education to others! We Rock Charlotte is a nonprofit organization that teaches children, teens, and adults to express themselves through music. We Rock uses music to build community and help children explore their own creativity and identities (with a special focus on providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ kids). We Rock is fundraising to help provide scholarships to kids for music lessons and music summer camp. A gift of $45 provides a lesson to a child, a gift of $165 provides a month of lessons, and a gift of $225 provides a month of extended lessons.
