November has long been recognized as Children’s Grief Awareness Month—a time dedicated to increasing understanding and support for young people who are grieving.

STAR Children's Bereavement Services is the Upper Peninsula's only nonprofit focused on children's grief. STAR provides free resources and experiences to youth from across the U.P.

Camp STAR is a grief camp designed for children ages 8-17 who have experienced the unfortunate death of a parent, friend, or loved one. It is sponsored by STAR Children’s Bereavement Services and is a weekend long camp filled with traditional, fun, camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support.

The Wonder Box is a free service for children and teens, aged 8-17, that have experienced the death of a significant person in their life. The boxes include grief activities, crafts, coping skills, and other grief related resources to help children and teens to manage and cope with their grief. Wonder Box also aims to create or continue memories of their person or people that have died.
