I am Addie’s stepdad and I’ve known her and helped her mom since the day she was born. Addie is a big part of my life and I’d do anything for her. We love you ADDIE! Katelynn Baudier, Addie's mother, says: My daughter, Addalynn Howarth was born on November 22, 2019, and she was born with the skin on her feet missing. I remember the doctors thinking my placenta had busted,  so they tried to wipe her feet, and the scream she let out hurt my heart forever. But then, when the blood didn’t come off, the doctors were at a loss for words and huddled across from her - whispering, not knowing what was wrong or what to say. My mom ended up grabbing her and letting me hold her because no one knew what to do. A passing nurse (our angel, yet I have no idea who she was, except that she was a nurse coming off shift) noticed my daughter and told the doctors we should run a genetic test for EB. The test results came back within 2 weeks that she had RDEB. We’ve had one infection in her knee that needed to be drained, and she’s been having issues eating and choking sometimes. She’s also been waking herself up crying and sometimes choking/gagging lately. We’re also having issues with insurance, especially since our main doctor for procedures in our state no longer accepts Medicaid. Hopeful all gets resolved soon.
