Every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday.

The Cherry Cake Project is the first initiative kickstarting the Cherry Project Organization, a community-focused passion project rooted in small but meaningful acts that plant and nurture kindness. Our first mission through the Cherry Cake Project provides birthday cakes to children in low-income families and families experiencing financial hardship — where a birthday cake may be out of reach, or where spending $40 on a cake could mean less money available for food and essentials.

These families sometimes have to choose between a celebration or groceries. Oftentimes, basic needs have to come first and celebrations, though meaningful, are pushed to the side as non-essential and just extra. On a shopping list, a cake may seem non-essential, but for a child, it represents something much bigger: being seen, remembered, and celebrated.

Birthday celebrations are linked to healthier social and emotional development in children. It reinforces family bonds. And while every detail may not be remembered, birthdays create core memories that build emotional foundations that last far beyond childhood.

Gift birthday cakes to children in need.
Cover supplies for handmade birthday cards made by the Cherry Crew.
Cover delivery and basic supplies when necessary.
Create a special birthday moment that feels normal, joyful, and magical.

This year, our goal is to provide birthday cakes to 144 children. That's three birthdays gifted to a child a week!

Be a part of a child's birthday celebration by donating any amount. Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach more children and brighten more birthdays.

This project was made to be intentionally simple. Funds raised go directly toward making birthdays possible — no extravagance, no excess, just community care and intentions rooted in kindness.

The Cherry Cake Project is a founder-led community initiative. At this time, donations are not tax-deductible, but every contribution is tracked carefully and used solely for this project.
