With inflation and sky rocketing grocery prices, families are being stressed to make ends meet.  American Veterans are a special focus for cHOPE.  cHOPE is looking to do great things in our community and make a real difference for our local Veterans and ALL Others.

cHOPE has a mission plan:

- Provide a mobile food pantry bus to bring high quality, natural foods to the "desert" areas of the local community. The bus is self-contained with 4 refrigerators/freezers units, shelving and powered by aux generator for mobile operations to keep everything fresh while on the road.

- Grow healthy, natural products on our Urban Farm site. We have available farm land, buildings, equipment and space for gardens and livestock. In addition to fresh produce, we will be able to raise chickens, pigs, turkeys, rabbits, quail, honey bees and more. By providing resources and education for natural and organic food production, we will use the Power of Nature to Restore the Human Spirit.

The USDA has special programs to support Veterans in agriculture. We have the land and resources available for those who wish be involved. For those unable to have pets at home, cHOPE can match Vets with Pets at the farm. Pets provides Veterans with unconditional love and support, easing stress, depression, loneliness and anxiety.

- Work to reclaim food waste from landfills in our Community. Converting to the waste to valuable feed for local, self-reliant, small-scale farmers at no cost to them. The goal is for our “Green” efforts in composting/recycling food waste, will increase meat and egg production, that will come back to our free food pantry. This will be a vital step for increasing wholesome foods locally and to help eliminate greenhouse gases created by food waste decaying in land fill operations.

cHOPE feels the above activities will have a significant impact on improving the lives of the less fortunate in our local community. We will be growing natural foods, providing good nutrition choices, providing education and experiences to be self-reliant in growing their own food, which will directly lower their food costs and improve physical and mental health.
