My 40th birthday is coming up on July 16, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by rallying the people I love around a place I love. This year, that place is MOCADA.

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MOCADA) is a Brooklyn gem, one of the country's leading museums dedicated to the art of the African Diaspora. It uses art to spark dialogue, build community, and drive real change, from bold exhibitions to free education programs for kids and families across the neighborhood.

MOCADA is also where my New York story began. When I was brand new to the city, MOCADA gave me my start, and it shaped how I think about art, culture, and the people who make it. I recently joined its board, so getting to give back to the place that gave me so much feels like a real full circle moment.

I would love for us to celebrate together by supporting a museum that means the world to me. Every dollar helps MOCADA keep its doors open, its walls full, and its programs free and thriving. Any amount, big or small, would make my year. Thank you for celebrating with me.
