People Like Me Project, Inc is a nonprofit community based, behavioral health ang prevention services organization, dedicated to serving youths, adults, and the community.

Our primary program needing support is our youth program called “The Outlet”. The Outlet is a community-based mentoring and prevention services program designed for youth ages 10-18. We know that mentoring makes a difference because students who meet regularly with their mentors are:

· 52% less likely than their peers to skip a day of school

· 37% less likely to skip class

· 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs

· 27% less likely to experiment with alcohol

· 76% of young adults who had mentors aspire to enroll in and graduate from college

· Mentoring reduces social isolation, increases social acceptance, and improve academic achievements
