Founded in 1915 as part of the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, the Cincinnati NAACP is among more than 2,200 branches with more than two million activists across the country united in the fight to end racial inequality. It is an IRS-designated 501(c)(4) nonprofit advocacy organization operated by local members and leaders in its jurisdiction of Hamilton County, Ohio.
Donations directly to the Cincinnati NAACP are not tax-deductible due to its 501(c)4 designation. However, Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati has entered into a fiscal sponsorship relationship with the Cincinnati NAACP to receive gifts on their behalf as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. As fiscal sponsor, Community Shares is responsible for ensuring any funds donated to benefit the NAACP under this fiscal sponsorship are used exclusively for charitable purposes, making them deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The IRS requires disclosure that no goods or services are provided to the donor in exchange for any gift.
Thank you for your support of racial equity in our community!
