In partnership with CitizensNYC, Away’s Las Almas ERG is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by supporting a Latine-led nonprofit, Dominican Writers Association (DWA). Dominican Writers Association works to amplify the voices of Dominicans across the diaspora. Since 2015, DWA has strived to educate the community, celebrate Dominican culture, and foster literacy by providing the community with the necessary resources to develop their writing further through free writing workshops, book readings/book signings, book club meetings, book giveaways, and an annual writer’s conference.

To help bring this mission to life, we invite you to join us in supporting DWA through a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make a difference—whether it’s funding free workshops for emerging writers, providing books for community giveaways, or supporting the annual writer’s conference that connects and elevates Dominican voices.

Founded in 1975 as one of the nation’s first micro-funding organizations, CitizensNYC provides financial and capacity-building support to New York City neighborhood leaders who are making their communities more connected, resilient, and healthier.
