CK Network
In February, with the help of donations from countless neighbors (near and far), the Community Kitchen volunteer network was able to provide about $90k in rental assistance to 80 families. As March 1st approaches, the need for rent relief persists. ICE continues to threaten our communities, and the financial impact of the occupation is profound.
We, the Community Kitchen volunteer network, are working together to raise $100k to cover March rent for about 100 Twin Cities families. These funds will help fill in gaps where existing rental assistance resources are unavailable or already expended due to the incredible need.
Every contribution goes directly to rent—donate today to help keep Minnesota families housed this March.
About the Community Kitchen volunteer network:
A group of volunteers from Community Kitchen, a Minneapolis-based food distribution collective founded in 2020, came together in January to deliver groceries to our neighbors sheltering at home during ICE's occupation of the Twin Cities. What started with a few volunteers serving several families has transformed into a network of 100 volunteers delivering groceries to almost 200 families. And what began as a grocery delivery network has grown to include rent relief assistance, as many families have expressed and continue to express concern about paying their rent while sheltering at home during federal occupation.
