About the Baltimore Abortion Fund

Founded in 2014, the Baltimore Abortion Fund (BAF) is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and logistical support to people who live in or travel to Maryland for abortion care. BAF operates a confidential helpline where case managers make financial commitments to help callers pay for their procedures, as well as provide information on how to access abortion care. They also coordinate logistical support, like transportation, accommodation, childcare, meals and more to further remove barriers to abortion care.

Work & Vision

In 2024, BAF pledged over $1 million in financial and logistical support to nearly 2,000 clients. Since 2020, their call volume has increased by 40% year over year.

Now that Roe has been overturned, Maryland has become an even more important destination for care. We are one of the most southern states with the strongest legal protections for abortion access.
