Academy for Innovation in Medicine (AIM)

The Academy for Innovation in Medicine (AIM) is a new, tuition-free STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) middle and high school launching in Fall 2026 to address Atlanta’s growing healthcare workforce shortage.

AIM will prepare students—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—for high-demand healthcare careers through rigorous academics, hands-on training, dual enrollment, and real-world clinical experience.

Why AIM Matters

Georgia currently has 40,000 unfilled healthcare jobs, a number projected to double by 2030. Metro Atlanta is particularly affected, facing both workforce shortages and persistent disparities in health outcomes and economic mobility.

AIM directly responds to this challenge by creating a clear, affordable pathway into healthcare careers, beginning as early as middle school. Through strong industry partnerships, students gain early exposure to medical fields, career-aligned instruction, and hands-on experience that prepares them for both employment and further education.

In partnership with Grady Health System, AIM’s programs are aligned to real workforce needs, including nursing, medical assisting, radiologic and surgical technology, pharmacy technology, phlebotomy, and echocardiography.

AIM is Georgia’s first fully integrated healthcare-focused STEMM middle and high school, combining:

Georgia Standards of Excellence, CTAE pathways, and competency-based learning.
Dual Enrollment & Early College
Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science through Atlanta Technical College at no cost to families.
Hands-On Training & Work-Based Learning
Clinical simulations, internships, job shadowing, and patient-care experiences overseen by Grady Health System.
Future-Ready Learning Environments
Simulation labs, medical-grade equipment, and AI-enabled learning tools aligned with modern healthcare practice.
