I was twelve, hanging on a ladder on a metal path cutting up through the French Alps. (courtesy of the Tour du Mont Blanc) I had grown up embracing the beautiful California cliffsides, Colorado Flatirons, and varied Texas prairies. No stranger to camping (thank you, Mom), and only excited about adventuring as far and as high as I could go.
Six years later. Mount Kilimanjaro will be the most challenging expedition I’ve faced, at 19 thousand ft, about 3x higher than where this photo was taken, and seven days ahead of us... I still couldn’t be more excited. Not only does this campaign directly help me along the way, taking the weight off of everyday essentials for the climb, but it also helps by benefiting a nonprofit supporting what I believe in. From my time with Accelerate Change, I've seen spaces and opportunities created to bring out the best stories and generate real change, and I'm happy to be a part of it again.
Thank you to everyone supporting this campaign for all of us. I appreciate every eye on it and every thought surrounding this huge journey.
