ForeBatten Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting health and wellness through golf while advancing research for rare diseases.  Golf course architect David Kahn and his wife Karen formed the foundation in 2017, shortly after receiving the devastating news that their twin girls had been diagnosed with juvenile Batten disease (CLN3), a rare and fatal genetic disorder of the nervous system that leads to vision loss, seizures, and loss of speech and motor function.

“Fore” means “ahead” or “forward,” and a familiar golf term you hear when something unavoidable is heading your way—much like Batten disease. The Kahn family is taking a swing at Batten disease. With your help, the Kahn family is funding CLN3 research studies and helping families affected by Batten disease.
