Come Back, Give Back

Come Back Give Back (CBGB) is an ongoing fundraising campaign to build a financial foundation for The Flavor Continues (TFC) through the power of the people; those that have been empowered, liberated, and lifted up by Street and Club dance communities here in the Greater Boston and New England area, past and present.

At TFC, Street and Club dance is our priority 24/7/365. This alumni network fundraising approach is from the bottom up as opposed to the top down which relies on grant approvals from funders with ever shifting funding priorities. What we provide for Street & Club dancers is important for the long term well-being of our communities. We want these art forms and the cultures, lessons, traditions, and values that come with them to be around for a very long time. This is only possible if me, you, and WE continue to highlight, amplify, and invest in the holistic and intrinsic value that comes from pouring into these beautiful communities regardless of what policy is trending.

CBGB differs from our past fundraisers because instead of a one-time donation, your customized contribution automatically renews either month after month, or year after year. This is a lifestyle, so it’s only right to shift to investing in a long term commitment. You can always adjust your recurring amount and/or frequency.

Minimum of $5/month, or $60/year.
Anything $25/month ($300/year) and above qualifies for membership benefits.
No maximum monthly or yearly amount.

As an organization, we have to look at the numbers and set financial goals to ensure our services to our communities continue. As a community, this service shows up as consistent practice space, guidance and mentorship, bridging generation gaps, teaching through a culturally informed lens, behind the scenes support for other events in our ecosystem, and our own events like Entering ShaoLynn & Flavorday, all brought to the people in a raw genuine manner.

Investing in CBGB pushes Street & Club dance communities further towards self-governance; where “all we need is us” and “we made it” come together. CBGB is the stepping stones that take our communities from the golden era into the platinum era.
