Help Us Keep Spaying & Neutering Hawaii Island’s Dogs 🐾

We have a problem—and it’s a good one.

In August 2026, we made a social media post offering free spay and neuter services to people who need help getting their dogs fixed. We hoped a few families would reach out.

Instead, the response has been overwhelming—in the best possible way.

People are saying YES to spaying and neutering their pets. They want to prevent unwanted litters. They want to be responsible pet owners. They want to keep their dogs home and out of an already overwhelmed rescue system.

We are thrilled. ❤️

But there’s one problem: we are running out of money.

We desperately want to keep this program going. Every dog we can spay or neuter today means fewer puppies who may be born tomorrow without a home.

Hawaii Island is facing a pet overpopulation crisis.

Every day, we see the heartbreaking reality:

🐾 Dogs being abandoned or surrendered
🐾 Animal Control running out of space
🐾 Rescues stretched beyond capacity
🐾 Puppies being born with nowhere to go
🐾 Families struggling to find safe homes for their pets

And now, Hurricane Lala has added another layer to an already overwhelming crisis.

Pet kennels have been damaged or destroyed. Families who have been cut off from supplies are struggling to get food for their animals. Some families are facing circumstances that make it impossible to keep their dogs and are desperately searching for safe places to rehome them.

Our island is inundated with pets who need help.

We can rescue dogs, find fosters, transport animals, and search for adopters—but the best way to address the crisis is to prevent unwanted litters from being born in the first place.

Spay & neuter saves lives.

Spaying and neutering can:

🐾 Prevent unwanted litters, reducing the number of puppies entering an already overwhelmed rescue system.

🐾 Help keep dogs safely at home. Females in heat may escape, while unneutered males can wander long distances searching for a female.

🐾 Reduce certain hormone-driven behaviors, including roaming and some forms of aggression.

🐾 Protect female dogs from pyometra, a potentially life-threatening uterine infection.
