Since our founding in 2022, we have done some major growing. From a small volunteer team to a staff of six with a handful on contracted therapists, it is no exaggeration to say that the demand and support that we have received for our services has been more than we could have imagined. As a small group of queer and BIPOC folks who came together to see some real change in our community, we couldn't be more excited for all that we've done. Some of these accomplishments have included:

Expanding from an outdoor pantry to a trauma-informed, three-day-a-week indoor pantry space
Growing our therapy services to accept all major insurance providers, including Medicaid, as well as sliding-scale options.
Receiving over 400+ hours a month of donated volunteer time from our community members
Being awarded "Transformer" status by MANNA Foodbank, a positive nod to our trauma-informed food services that also includes a reduction in delivery fees

But there is still more work to do.

This year has tested our WNC communities in ways that we could have imagined. Watching those around us rise up to care for each other was the inspiration for our 2024 End of Year Giving Campaign: Community Lives Here. But community doesn't just live here at CBR. It eats here, builds here, listens here. Community is truly at the heart of everything we do and because of that, we're asking for your support to help make our goals a reality for 2025.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, CBR has been given the opportunity to match a donation of $50,000. This funding will help solidify our ability to carry out goals like completing our new community food pantry and ensuring all of our staff are paid a livable wage.

We know that it's a big goal to reach but if we know one thing, this community knows how to show up.
