but finding there’s nowhere to go. Instead of practicing skills, building friendships, or preparing for a job, you spend your day waiting. Waiting for someone to tell you what’s next. Waiting for life to feel full.

For many adults with developmental, intellectual, and mental disabilities, this is their daily reality.

Take James*, for example. James is a young adult living with a disability in the Indianapolis area. He has always wanted to live independently in an apartment and hold a steady job. However, without the proper training and support, he has been stuck at home, spending most of his days watching TV while his parents are at work.

James doesn’t lack ability or desire. He simply hasn’t had the chance to practice the skills that would help him succeed.

At Connie’s Clubhouse, James is finally getting that chance.

Picture him in a kitchen, learning to follow a recipe and proudly serving the wholesome meal he just made to his friends and loved ones. Or in our vocational skills class, where he practices organizing items and builds the confidence to one day step into a job, and help him live more independently.

Most importantly, imagine James surrounded by new friends, sharing laughter and encouragement as he learns.

This is what your support makes possible. Our day program provides life skills, vocational training, and an uplifting community that turns waiting into thriving.

Our goal this year is $15,000 to expand our services to 3 more adults, who have a story like James', providing them with full-time access to Connie's Clubhouse programs for 3 months.

Three months of learning, growing, and building confidence. Three months of independence in action. Three months that can change the course of a life.
