The Cool Bus is Bryant & Co. Foundation's mobile farm education program and it is exactly what it sounds like. We take the farm to the people. We pull up to a block, pop open the doors, and bring seeds, soil, live animals, cooking demonstrations, nutritional workshops, and live music directly into communities that may never have had access to a farm experience before.

The Cool Bus does not just visit a neighborhood. It plants something there. Literally.

Every family that participates plants one grow bag at the event with one specific crop for that season. Not a mix. One thing, done intentionally. That bag goes home with them. From that point forward they are the neighborhood expert on that crop. Their tomatoes. Their peppers. Their squash. Their herbs. One family, one crop, one season of learning what it takes to grow something from seed to table.

The event itself is a full community experience. Families choose their workshops from a rotating menu of options including soil science, seed saving, animal handling, nutritional education, and chef-led cooking demonstrations. Live music plays throughout. If the community wants it, animals come too. A goat, a chicken, the farm dog. We bring what makes sense for the block.

Each Cool Bus block party runs quarterly, one per season, timed to what is growing at The Living Ground so that every grow bag going home is planted at exactly the right time of year.

How your donation will be used:
Funds go toward bus operating costs, fuel and transportation, workshop materials and supplies, animal transport and care during events, chef and educator compensation, and live music production. Grow bag kits including soil, seeds, crop care guides, recipe cards, and harvest swap instructions are funded separately through the Grow Bag Gardens campaign so every dollar here goes directly toward the event experience itself.

How it will be tracked and reported:
Every Cool Bus event is documented with location, attendance, photos, and a full cost and activity breakdown. Donors receive a post-event report for each block party their contribution helped fund. At the end of each quarter we publish a cumulative impact report showing total events delivered, total communities reached, and total families served. We want you to see exactly where your dollar went and who it touched.

Why this matters:
Not everyone can come to the farm. So we bring the farm to them, and we make sure a piece of it stays when we leave. This is the mission on wheels.
