She was running a cross-country race in 7th grade and tried with all her might not to come in last… This was the scene I was watching with tears running down my face because my daughter who has cerebral palsy was determined to show everyone that she could do it. She did not come in last, and I dare say everyone was going crazy, students, teachers, and parents cheering, because we all recognized the amazing effort. Anytime I verbalize this story to someone I immediately tear up remembering how proud I was of her.

This is a perfect snapshot of who my daughter, Katy has become today. She’s extremely determined to help other people with cerebral palsy or any other disability.

I'm participating in CP Strong's fundraiser to support my daughter, but also the entire disability community — because everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging and connect with people who understand what they're experiencing.
