At Oxon Hill High School, music is more than an elective—it is a lifeline, a discipline, and a space where students discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming.

Within the Instrumental Music Department, young musicians come together every day to learn not only how to perform, but how to lead, collaborate, and persevere. Whether it is in concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, or marching band, our students are building skills that extend far beyond the classroom—skills that will shape their futures as artists, scholars, and leaders.

This year, the Oxon Hill High School Instrumental Music Boosters Association (IMBA) is focused on strengthening and elevating our program in meaningful and lasting ways.

THE WALTER A. HARLEY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

At the heart of this campaign is something even more personal: the future of our students beyond high school.

The Walter A. Harley Scholarship Fund was created to honor a legacy of excellence, leadership, and lifelong dedication to music education. This scholarship exists to support graduating seniors as they continue their academic journeys and pursue music at the collegiate level and beyond.

For many of our students, this support can be the difference between continuing their passion or putting it aside due to financial barriers.

We believe talent should never be limited by circumstance.
