For over three decades, the Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA) has been a pillar of support for Latino families in Oklahoma City. Dedicated to education, leadership, health, service, and advocacy, the LCDA serves over 40,000 individuals annually through more than 24 programs, helping to bridge gaps and create lasting opportunities. The LCDA is committed to uplifting the Latino community and fostering a brighter future for all.

Back-to-School Bash: A Growing Tradition

One of the LCDA’s flagship community events is the Back-to-School Bash, a large-scale initiative ensuring students start the school year prepared and confident. In 2024, the event saw over 1,200 attendees, with families receiving free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, vaccines, sports physicals, autism screenings, school enrollment assistance, access to after-school programs, food, and more—all at no cost. The event was made possible by the dedication of local partners, businesses, and volunteers who came together to invest in the future of our children.

Looking Ahead: A New Partnership & Bigger Impact

As we prepare for 2025 and beyond, the LCDA is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Scissortail Park. This partnership will expand our reach and make the event even more engaging and accessible for families. This collaboration will allow us to increase attendance and provide essential services, all while offering a fun and welcoming environment for the community.

Our vision is to make the Back-to-School Bash a long-standing annual tradition in collaboration with Scissortail Park, growing its impact year after year. With continued support from businesses, community leaders, and volunteers, we hope to reach more students and ensure they have the tools they need to succeed.
