Cristosal is a human rights organization dedicated to promoting human rights and democracy in Central America. Founded in 2000 on the belief in the power of strong relationships, we began by fostering connections between North America and El Salvador. This vision was rooted in the Anglican commitment to justice and human dignity a vision we share to this day.

Today, we are a leading voice in the region, driven by a diverse team of over 100 human rights defenders. We center our work on the experience of victims and the strengthening of social movements to defend human rights and drive social change. Our toolbox of support includes victim protection, litigation, education and community organizing, and research and documentation.

We focus on addressing critical human rights issues such as internal displacement, impunity for war crimes, and discrimination against marginalized communities. We are committed to promoting justice, combating corruption, and strengthening democracy in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras through strong, educated, movements of people willing to defend and promote the rights and dignity of every human being.
