Brit, raised here since she was a baby, has suddenly developed a threatening abdominal mass. Detected recently, we have no time to waste. She and her twin brother, Brad, have known hardship early in life when they were abandoned for a long time at a rental property, and now she faces another daunting battle that demands swift action. The sudden and severe nature of Brit's illness strikes a deep chord of urgency within our team, as we are haunted by the memory of her early struggles and compelled by a fierce determination to save her. Every second counts as we rally to combat this new threat, fully aware that the window to save her life is rapidly closing.

Tito’s Desperate Journey:

Tito’s life has been a saga of abandonment and suffering. Found in a shelter after his incapacitated guardian could no longer care for him, Tito was left to face unimaginable pain alone. For months, he languished with a severe, untreated injury to his leg, his large frame suffering from morbid obesity, which only worsened his condition. His vision blurred, leaving him to navigate a world of shadows and pain, unable to understand why he was being subjected to such torment.

Tito requires expensive, ongoing care, including medications costing $488 per bottle, to not only manage his pain but to give him a chance to walk comfortably again. The urgency of his situation cannot be overstated—every moment without proper treatment is a moment too long.

Cotton Branch Family,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we bring you this devastating update about our cherished Piggalo. After battling a severe and invasive medical condition, we faced the hardest decision a sanctuary must make.

During a complex surgery, it was revealed that Piggalo's tumor originated internally near his urethra, aggressively expanding outward. By the time the signs of the tumor appeared externally, it was already too late, since so much damage was already done internally. Our hope was that this was mainly all external and we could remove it and stop it from moving internal: this was the opposite in Piggalo's case. Despite the extraordinary efforts of Dr. Scruggs, who labored for three hours in a bid to excise this life-threatening mass, the extent of the tumor's integration made complete removal unachievable. A large portion of the Urethra was affected, so there would not be enough healthy tissue to reroute it. The severity of the situation left us with no humane option other than to let Piggalo go, sparing him further pain.

The sanctuary is in mourning. Piggalo was not just a pig; he was a beacon of joy and resilience, a gentle soul who overcame immense challenges. He captivated hearts and inspired love and compassion through his bravery and sweet nature. We find solace in knowing that we provided him with love and fought hard to save him. Piggalo will be cremated and will return home to rest among those who loved him dearly.

As we grieve, our commitment to our animals endures, driven by the memory of Piggalo's fighting spirit. Brit, too, is fighting a serious health battle and needs our immediate help. As we continue our efforts to secure the vital care she requires, we reach out to you once again.
