Takodah YMCA just successfully completed its 105^th year of summer camp — and delivered a million smiles to the faces of over 1,200 young campers!

After a year of sitting in front of computer screens, campers took full advantage of all the outdoor activities that Takodah has to offer. They swam, kayaked, canoed, sailed, hiked, and went mountain biking. They zip-lined, topped the climbing wall, fished, and played 4-square, disc golf, basketball, volleyball, and more.

As campers enjoyed their favorite pastimes, we couldn’t help noticing that some of the athletic equipment, playing fields, and infrastructure need updating to keep our campers safe and in the game.

Takodah has three major projects to finish before next summer to improve our campers’ experience:

• Build a proper Disc Golf Course

• Upgrade aging Athletics Equipment

• Renovate the playing surface and install floodlights at North Camp Field

To jumpstart our fundraising efforts, a longtime Takodian has offered to match all donations made on or before October 15 dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000!

We hope you will consider a gift to support these priorities. 

Donations of all amounts make a difference (and can DOUBLE with a match if donated by October 15):

• $1,000 helps light the North Camp Field for evening programs

• $500 installs a disc golf basket as part of a new course

• $250 upgrades the equipment needed for an athletics class

• $100 provides the arrows for a session of archery

• $50 tunes up a mountain bike for the summer
