Your donation in 2020 made it possible for campers to return to Camp Takodah this summer, and I humbly ask for your continued support as we reimagine what Takodah looks like for next summer’s campers.

Your donation today will ensure that we remain able to provide the quintessential Takodah experience — while advancing our ability to serve kids who are facing unprecedented challenges that are having devastating effects on their mental health.

A YEAR TO REMEMBER

After closing camp last year, this summer welcomed campers and staff back to Takodah. Of all our shared accomplishments this year, perhaps none was as significant as a return to normalcy. Struggling through a public health crisis that grew a mental health crisis, campers and their families came to us with one resounding message: kids need camp more than ever. Campers left Takodah this summer with renewed spirits – and their families write to us daily with stories of how camp paved the way to a happy and successful return to school and everyday life.

LOOKING AHEAD

Recent national studies of youth show that the prevalence of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation have doubled during COVID. But more importantly, they show that these mental health issues are treatable and preventable. To be sure, Takodah is not a single prescription for these challenges, and ensuring healthy youth will take an all-of-society effort. In this moment of need, Takodah is committed to doing its part to lead with inclusion, kindness, and respect as we lay the foundation for healthier, more resilient, and more fulfilled kids.
