MAKE ROO’S DREAM A REALITY!!!
Roo is a unique little boy! Most likely due to a hoarding situation, his litter was allowed to severely inbreed resulting in all the puppies in his litter being born with NO front legs (Dyschondroplasia of the limbs) as well as hearing/vision issues. In addition to missing his front legs, Roo is also deaf – but is quickly learning sign language! He has Strabismus – meaning his eyes don’t align or dilate properly but he sees extremely well! And he has very mild Hydrocephalus – however his Neurologist gave him a clean bill of health and expects a long life ahead of him!
While Roo has learned to hop/scoot and frequently JUMP most everywhere inside, he still struggles to keep up with his sisters and brothers while playing outside. Roo is the unofficial Ambassador for his rescue group and attends a lot of dog events and functions to bring attention to rescue dogs; but without wheels his mobility at events is limited to being confined to his stroller when out and about.
After researching and speaking with 3DPets, Roo is an excellent candidate for a cart and his new wheels will allow him to regain a lot of mobility! The total for Roo’s cart is $1,800 and will greatly improve his quality of life by reducing fatigue and strain on his remaining 2 limbs, his muscles and bones by redistributing weight and correcting posture. The Wishbone Foundation, which supports dogs in need of mobility devices, has generously contributed $1,000 towards our goal which leaves us with only $800 left to raise!
While we are saving towards Roo’s wheels, we’re hoping there may be some compassionate people out there who would also be willing to help Roo. Thanks for taking the time to read his story and please, PLEASE share!
