In Nkolfoulou/Cameroon, the high rate of teen pregnancy and the consequences on the teen girls and their babies are concerning. A 2018 survey from the health department in Cameroon showed that the teenage childbearing rate for the center region was 30%, far higher than the national rate of 24%. With the Covid pandemic and socioeconomic hardships, this rate is expected to have significantly worsened, leaving so many abandoned teens’ healthcare needs and the needs of their babies unmet. Our goal is to step in and support these teen moms during their pregnancy through sensitization, income-generating activities, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and supporting them with basic needs and education as they care for their newborns. The aim is for them to have a new sense of direction, renewed hope in Christ to live a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.
