Known for its international tours, Clowns Without Borders is over the moon to announce a US tour!

We're taking the laughter, play, and connection we're known for and bringing it to folks in our backyard.

A lot of times, entertainment happens behind closed doors. There's usually a payment barrier to entry, and that leaves out a lot of people who don't have the means to attend. We want to offer this experience to EVERYONE!

The US has some of the wealthiest citizens on the planet. And yet, due to growing inequality, standards of living vary dramatically from person to person. In Bay Area cities, gentrification has reached unsustainable levels and there is a housing crisis with a large population living on the streets. Our goal is to bring the show directly to them.

What Your Donation Does

Your gift of $1 or $1,000 brings laughter to asylum seekers and unhoused people in the Bay Area.

This tour is inspired, in part, by an experience that one of the performers on this tour, Robin Lara (pictured in red and white stripes in the image at the top of the page), had while performing in the street.

"I was doing a street show in Berkeley, and when the show ended, I was collecting tips in my hat from the crowd I had gathered. An older woman in a wheelchair came over to me after everyone else had left. She said, 'I'm homeless and I can't give you any money, but I wanted to thank you for doing this show out here. It's the only way people like me can see this kind of thing.'"

It's easy to go through life not really noticing people like this living right alongside us. We want to show these folks that they are not forgotten — through laughter, play, and connection.

The average household income is well over six-figures
The mix of profound inequality and the absence of affordable housing and sufficient mental health services has created a crisis
In a county of 1.5 million residents, over 500,000 are immigrants
Over 100,000 Alameda County immigrants remain undocumented and lack legal protections, access to affordable housing, and jobs
