High-Speed Internet Will Transform a School in Zambia

Breath of Heaven’s secondary school and college in Zambia faced a critical barrier: unreliable internet service. More than an inconvenience, this limited educational opportunities, burdened teachers, prevented them from fully serving their 350 students and 75 staff, and kept them from reaching the broader community. God provided the solution through Aid the Way's $8,500 gift that funded the installation of Starlink™ high-speed internet, transforming both learning and teaching.

“Our school is far from the central part of town, so accessing anything online for teachers and students requires public transportation to an internet cafe’ – a tedious situation,” shared Dumasani, Breath of Heaven’s computer teacher. “Now, instead of copying notes by hand and teachers spending time hunting down reliable internet, students can do their own research and we have access to a large library of resources.”

For over 20 years, Breath of Heaven has rescued orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia, guiding them toward independence through education, spiritual formation, and comprehensive support. They don’t only rescue, they invest long-term in each child and the community. “Our computer lab was lifeless without the internet but you gave it purpose and life. This greatly improved our quality of learning,” continued Dumasani. “This is something we have been crying for for a long time. My dream is to see our children become better leaders because of this access and be able to grow spiritually. To the people who provided this, thank you. You don’t know the impact you have had on students and teachers. We pray that from whatever you have removed to provide for us, God will provide even more.”

Looking ahead, the school plans to integrate more biblical curriculum and discipleship tools now accessible online. What began as a technology upgrade serves as a bridge to bring the wider community into a relationship with Christ. As more students enroll, more households are exposed to the church, discipleship, and the hope of the gospel.
