The community served by Hajar’s House encompasses a diverse range of women and families facing abuse and housing insecurity, with a particular focus on communities that have been historically under-served. This includes Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latino, new Americans, immigrants, refugees, people with disabilities, LGBTQI communities, veterans, rural communities, and low-income populations. We are asking for a $25 donation to use towards items such as hygiene packs, food, safe shelter and much more.

What sets our community apart is the intersectionality of their experiences, often compounded by systemic barriers and structural inequalities. Many of those we serve face multiple forms of discrimination and marginalization, further exacerbating their vulnerability to homelessness and housing instability.

The opportunity we seek to address lies in creating a more equitable and inclusive society where every individual has access to safe, stable housing and the resources they need to thrive. However, this opportunity is accompanied by significant challenges, including the shortage of affordable housing, lack of access to supportive services, and systemic barriers that perpetuate cycles of poverty and homelessness.

Hajar’s House works tirelessly to address these challenges by providing transitional housing and comprehensive support services tailored to the unique needs of our community. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of the intersecting factors that contribute to housing insecurity, including poverty, discrimination, trauma, and lack of access to resources.

By centering the voices and experiences of those we serve, we are able to develop programs and initiatives that are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and empowering. We prioritize collaboration and partnership with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and service providers to ensure that our work is aligned with the needs and priorities of the communities we serve.
