“Help Support Our Future Doctors Here At Home”

Dear Central Coast Physicians,

Today on Giving Tuesday, we reach out to you not only as colleagues, but as fellow members of a community. The PHCC Foundation supports you, your practice, and the future physicians who will follow in your footsteps.

Why Your Support Matters Today?

Your Giving Tuesday gift will:

  • Ensure future PRIME Central Coast medical students have the support they need
  • Help stabilize the physician pipeline during a worsening regional shortage
  • Protect and uplift the physicians who care for our communities every day
  • Strengthen access to care for every resident living in the Tri-County Central Coast

This is about our community, our colleagues, and our future.

Together, we can make sure that the Central Coast doesn’t just get by—we can make sure it thrives.

Please join us this Giving Tuesday. Your generosity will have an immediate and lasting impact.

Let us tell you why this work cannot wait.

We know the challenges you face—growing patient demand, increasing burnout, mounting workforce shortages, and the pressure to care for a community with fewer resources than ever. That is why the impact of our mission is deeply personal and critical:

Together we can build a diverse physician workforce, strengthen medical career pathways, support physician well-being, and ensure that every patient on the Central Coast has access to the high-quality care they deserve.

Your support can accelerate two urgent priorities:

#1 — Physician Pathways Continuum – with PRIME Central Coast Launching and Applications open May 2026.

For years, students from our region—many the first in their families to dream of becoming a doctor—have lacked a clear path to medical school here at home. PRIME Central Coast changes that.

Your gift today directly supports:

  • Local students from underrepresented backgrounds who want to stay and serve the communities they grew up in
  • Medical training opportunities across Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties
  • The stability of our future physician workforce, so fewer clinics close and fewer patients are turned away

Every student we support today becomes a physician our region desperately needs tomorrow.

#2 — Physician Well-Being – The JOY OF MEDICINE Program Is Coming Here in January 2026!

Burnout is not a talking point—it’s something many of us feel in our bones. Our region cannot afford to lose another physician, and you shouldn’t have to shoulder this burden alone.

The JOY OF MEDICINE program will bring:

  • Free, confidential counseling from trusted, licensed therapists
  • Free entrance to the JOY of MEDICINE Summit in Sacramento
  • Free resources and services designed to restore purpose, resilience, and well-being

These supports exists because you deserve to thrive—not just to “get through the day.”

But to make these services fully available on the Central Coast, we need your help now.

So, make your tax-deductible donation today and invest in our next generation of physicians and the future of our community!

With heartfelt gratitude,
