Transforming Western is a collaborative community initiative to transform the Western Heights and Beaumont neighborhoods of Knoxville to improve the neighborhood conditions and transform residents' lives.

Transforming Western is a once-in-a-generation effort to rebuild an entire neighborhood in partnership with the people who live there, creating a vibrant, mixed-income community where families can thrive. Led by Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation and shaped through resident voices, this multi-phase revitalization is bringing new homes, parks, youth spaces, health services, and economic opportunity to Western Heights and Beaumont. Philanthropic support helps accelerate what federal funding alone cannot do — from safe, modern places for kids and teens to expanded health access, arts and culture spaces, and stronger pathways to education and employment. The Family Investment Foundation is a 501(c)3 component unit of Knoxville's Community Development Corporation (KCDC), the public housing authority for Knoxville and Knox County and the redevelopment agency for the City of Knoxville.
