Your tax-deductible monthly gift to Alano Club of Battle Creek, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, keeps the doors open to a place where community never takes a day off. Here, people in long-term recovery support others on their journey every single day—with understanding, compassion, and lived experience.

Why This Matters

The Battle Creek community already gives generously to shelters and food programs—lifelines that address immediate needs. But once the meal is eaten and the bed is vacated, the underlying issue often remains: substance use disorder.

Without ongoing recovery support, too many people cycle back into homelessness, hunger, and crisis. The Alano Club fills that gap. Hope is happening here- Every Day, 365 Days a Year- free to the community, the Club offers:

Immediate connection and daily recovery meetings
Education, referrals, and sober social events
Peer support from individuals living in long-term recovery

Last year alone, more than 25,000 visits were made to 3,120 recovery meetings and programs—proof that recovery isn’t abstract here. It’s happening every day.

Recovery doesn’t just change one life—it strengthens families.
When parents stabilize in recovery:

Children experience safer homes, stable routines, and improved wellbeing.
Families reconnect and rebuild trust.
Generational cycles of addiction, housing instability, and poverty begin to break.

At the Alano Club, connection happens through:

Monthly Recovery Nights with dinner and speakers who inspire hope
Recovery Breakfasts that build community over a warm meal
Workshops & Trainings (e.g., opioid awareness & Naloxone training, QPR suicide-prevention, recovery messaging, legal aid, financial literacy, driver’s record restoration)
Sober activities & holiday gatherings that make belonging a year-round reality
Peer support proven to be as powerful as many formal treatments

Courts, recovery homes, housing programs, and community partners already send people through our doors. But without prioritizing participation in these supports, individuals miss what can make long-term recovery possible.

Hope in Action

Since Battle Creek wants lasting solutions, we must invest in recovery support—not just temporary fixes. That’s why we’re also building the Recovery Grounds Café: a welcoming social-enterprise space that will deepen connection, create recovery-friendly employment, and sustain the Club’s mission for the long term.
