New York City Ballet 2024 Annual Luncheon

With 90 dancers, New York City Ballet goes through thousands of pairs of shoes per year. Pointe shoes in particular are vital to a ballerina’s performance and her magical gravity defying grace. They are custom made for our female dancers and are extremely short lived, sometimes only lasting a single performance.

Shoes are a vital part of our dancers’ work, and the NYCB Shoe Fund allows the Company to provide every dancer with the footwear necessary to elevate their movement onstage.
