Our History Needs a Home. The African American experience is the heartbeat of South Carolina’s history. From the resilience of our ancestors to the triumphs of modern leaders, these stories deserve to be told, preserved, and celebrated right here in Darlington.

The Vision We are thrilled to announce the creation of the Darlington African American Museum. This will be more than just a building; it will be a cultural hub, an educational center for our youth, and a sanctuary for the rich heritage of African Americans in South Carolina.

Construction is Underway! We aren't just planning; we are building. Thanks to early supporters, we have broken ground and construction has officially begun! The foundation is being laid, and the walls are going up. However, the journey isn't over yet.
