Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue (“GOFAR”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2021 by a group of professional women passionate about animal welfare. GOFAR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abused, abandoned, unwanted and neglected animals. Operating our own physical shelter facility, we are also supported by a compassionate network of foster homes, in-store cat habitats and dedicated volunteers caring for on average 200 animals daily. We provide critical medical and general care, socialization and safe haven for animals facing homelessness or euthanasia. Our ultimate mission is to reduce pet overpopulation, promote responsible pet ownership, and ensure animals in our care find loving, permanent homes. Since inception, we have provided general and medical care to over 3600 animals to prepare them for their forever homes; in 2025 alone nearly 900 of our animals found their new families. We take on over 40 major medical cases a year to provide life-saving medical care to innocent victims ranging from malnourishment to broken bones to gunshot and burn victims. All of this is accomplished as a primarily volunteer run rescue without 6 or 7 figure administrative or executive salaries!
