Things in Haiti have gotten out of hand...

We have been sharing updates in our email community and on social media about the changes in the country, and unfortunately, things have gotten worse. Recent news reported that gang members released thousands of people from prisons and are reportedly uniting to bring down the Prime Minister. This has resulted in unsafe communities and cities in Haiti, the inabilty to transport important goods throughout the country, and fear of the future for some of the people of Haiti.

To provide some means of safety, curfews have been enforced to try to reduce violent activities in the country.

Despite what is occuring in Haiti, business and schools remain open to try to keep the economy stable and ensure education remains a priority. We are happy to share that none of the schools, administrators, teachers, parents, families, nor students that we serve have been harmed and are doing well.

We need your help today.

Our sponsored students have tuition that is still due. The school administrators have been so gracious to allow students to return to school after many were sent home in February because they still had a balance for their school fees. Our priority has been (and will continue to be) to ensure the students we support remain in school. Although the state of the country is unknown, we want to ensure students have something to look forward to.

In addition, we paused our Men Kontre Program in November of last year and many families have shared how it has been a challenge to purchase food for their families, especially with inflation and limited job opportunites.

Our ask today is simple - provide a contrbution to restore the future of the rising leaders we serve (our students) and put food back on the table for families in Port au Prince.
