1 in 2 U.S. families with young children struggles with diaper need. Yet diapers cannot be purchased with SNAP or WIC benefits, leaving many parents to make impossible choices between diapers, food, housing, and transportation.

The Diaper Bank of North Georgia exists to eliminate diaper need by providing free diapers to families through trusted community partners across our region. Since 2019, we've distributed more than 1.15 million diapers to local children, but we're currently meeting only about 3% of the estimated 9.15 million diapers needed annually across the counties we serve.

Why It Matters

A baby uses 6–10 diapers every day, costing families $80–$100 per month. Without enough diapers:

Children are at greater risk for diaper rash and infections.
Parents may miss work because childcare providers require an adequate supply of diapers.
Families are forced to choose between buying diapers and paying for other basic necessities.

When families receive diaper assistance, they have more financial flexibility to afford food, housing, transportation, and other essentials.
