At DC Bilingual, we are committed to building community and promoting the physical, mental, and social wellness of our students, families and staff. We believe the wellness of everyone in our community is critical to our success and our impact is much greater when wellness is a priority!

Join us as we celebrate wellness and its many forms at our second annual Fun Run & Community Festival on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will feature a fun run where participants can run (or walk) .75 miles along the dedicated route. There will be a community festival where we bring together our families, friends, neighbors, and school partners to provide an opportunity to connect with local businesses, organizations, and community members; and engage in activities that promote our social, emotional, and physical well-being.

En DC Bilingual, estamos comprometidos a construir comunidad y promover el bienestar físico, mental y social de nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal. ¡Creemos que el bienestar de todos en nuestra comunidad es fundamental para nuestro éxito, y nuestro impacto es mucho mayor cuando el bienestar es una prioridad!

Únase a nosotros mientras celebramos el bienestar y sus muchas formas en nuestro Festival Comunitario y Carrera Divertida el sábado 20 de mayo de 2023. El evento contará con una carrera divertida en la que los participantes podrán correr (o caminar) 0,75 millas a lo largo de una ruta predeterminada. Habrá un festival comunitario donde reuniremos a nuestras familias, amigos, vecinos y colaboradores de la escuela para conectarse con empresas locales, organizaciones y miembros de la comunidad; y participar en actividades que promuevan nuestro bienestar social, emocional y físico.

About the MC & Host: Riz Tha Great is an award-winning artist from the Washington DC area and well known throughout the DMV. As a high-energy, crowd favorite, you can’t stay in your seat when he has the mic in his hand. Riz Tha Great is a host, artist, father, entrepreneur, and community activist. He will have the crowd captivated and screaming “Don’t Trip”! Riz Tha Great was recently awarded a Wammie for 2023 Best Hip Hop Song.

Special Performance: Fly Zyah, age 11, is a groundbreaking young rapper from Washington, DC, who is showing the world that young people are keenly aware of the world around them and ready to stand up for what is right. Covering topics from social justice to the youthful joy of riding bikes with her friends, Fly Zyah’s music is reaching across generations. Fly Zyah was recently recognized in The Kennedy Center’s Next 50.

All funds raised through the DC Bilingual Fun Run & Community Festival will support programming for the students, families, and staff at our school.

About DC Bilingual: Founded in 2004, DC Bilingual provides an innovative dual immersion Spanish and English learning program for all students, regardless of their home language. Through our rigorous academic curriculum, comprehensive arts, technology, and athletics programs, and our celebration of diverse cultures, DC Bilingual students learn the skills and values they need to become influential participants in their community.

As demand for bilingual education continues to rise, DC Bilingual will grow to serve more than 700 students in the next five years by expanding our building located in Ward 5. This expansion will provide our student LEADers with new and improved learning and enrichment environments and spaces for collaboration and community building for staff and families.
