Introducing Ruby

Can you believe that no one wanted her? This very sweet, well-mannered senior sat alone in a 2x2 ft metal cage (see photo) at the shelter for almost six months without any inquiries for adoption. 

What we know about Ruby:

Ruby is a senior, around 13 -15 years old and she is hyperthyroid, suffers from arthritis especially in her hind legs, and requires daily medication. Sadly, many black or dark colored animals are overlooked in shelters. We have four black cats on the sanctuary and happen to think they are GORGEOUS! 

Please consider saving a life like Ruby's. Seniors make the best companions.  

Vet Health Check Results:

Ruby was only 4 lbs when she was taken in as a stray. She is slowly gaining weight on her new healthy diet and is up to 6.4 lbs.

UPDATE:

Ruby is being treated for a urinary infection and has a dental scheduled on Oct. 22nd. She is having trouble eating from the poor condition of her teeth and likely needs many extractions. She is doing okay, considering all she endured. She has joined the rest of the cats on the sanctuary as if she has been here all her life. She loves to play with the feather toy and wiggle wand and nap on the cat tree. She had her first adventure outside and loved the garden. Ruby is an absolute delight and we love her.
